OUR PARISH PRIEST

FR. MICHAEL NADARAJU

He was born on the 14th February 1981 in Durban.

He entered St. Kizito Orientation Seminary (Oakford) for diocesan priests in the year 2000. He studied Philosophy at St. Peter’s seminary and Theology at St. John Vianney seminary (Pretoria) from the years 2001-2007. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Durban on the 15th December 2007 at the Emmanuel Cathedral (Durban).

He was appointed assistant priest at the parishes of Tongaat/Ballito/Shakaskraal as well as formator at St. Ambrose Formation House (Tongaat) for 5 years. He was parish priest at St. Vincent’s Parish (Pelham – PMB) for 3 years and at the Church of the Immaculate Conception (Pinetown) for 6 years.

He was sent to Rome in October 2021 for further studies and obtained a Licentiate in Canon Law (JCL) from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross (Santa Croce). He is presently the Judicial Vicar of the Interdiocesan Tribunal of the Durban Metropolitan region.

He was appointed to the Parish of St. Joseph on the 1st August 2024.

REV. LLOYD PAUL

FAMILY LIFE Married to Shamain for 31 years. Two adult children, Blaine, who resides in Cape Town and Caitlin, who resides in Atlanta, USA.
 
WORK LIFE Senior Investigator at Standard Bank Group Forensic Services.
 
CHURCH LIFE I have been a parishioner at St Joseph’s for 21 years. Previous Ministries: PPC Chairperson from 2016 – 2019, past leader of Ministers of Hospitality (MOH) and the Men’s Ministry (MM), Core Team for Alpha and ACTS. Current Ministries: Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Acolyte (Aspirant Deacon), Extra Ordinary Minister of Holy Communion and Minister to the Sick, Prayer Warriors, Support Group, MM and MOH.
 
VOCATION – CALL TO THE PERMANENT DEACONATE
 
I received my calling to become a Permanent Deacon in 1999 and started my journey and formation as an Aspirant Deacon in 2000. I was ordained to the order of the Permanent Deaconate on 1 November 2025.
